Why stained glass pet urns?
I am an avid pet lover and over the years have lost several much loved pets who have never been forgotten. It is important to those of us who consider pets a part of our family that we memorialize them in a way that will be a beautiful tribute.
For this reason I create stained glass pet urns. What better way to remember your pet than to have a one of a kind beautiful stained glass urn created for your pet that will last a lifetime and be a beautiful addition to your home?
I like to meet you and discuss your pet whenever possible. It is important that you share stories and photos of your pet in order to create an urn that will exemplify his/her personality and characteristics. Urns may range from simple and elegant to very ornate.

What size urn will I need for my pet?
Cremation urns for pets are measured in cubic inches, which are the dimensions for the urns capacity. Cremation urns for pets are available in many sizes, allowing you the flexibility to choose an urn that will perfectly suit your beloved pet. If you want an urn that will hold all of the ashes of your pet, you do need to consider the weight of your pet to be sure that all the ashes will fit inside. If you want a small urn that will hold just a smaller portion of the ashes, then a small urn will work. Keep in mind that it is alright to have extra space in the urn and that the ashes do not necessarily need to completely fill the urn.
The general rule in determining the appropriate size for an urn is for every pound of your pet's total weight you will need one cubic inch of space. For example:
- If your pet weighs 100 lbs. you will need an urn that is 100 cubic inches or larger
- If your pet weighs 50 lbs. you will need an urn that is 50 cubic inches or larger
- If your pet weighs 10 lbs. you will need an urn that is 10 cubic inches or larger
Some examples:
5x5x5-64 cubic inches or 60 pounds
4x4x4=27 cubic inches or 20 pounds
6x6x6=125 cubic inches or 120 pounds
You should not be worried significantly about buying too large of an urn. It is quite common for pet owners to buy urns that are 50, 70 cubic inches or even more for pets under 10 pounds.
Simply buy the urn that you want, the urn that best represent your beloved pet. The size of the urn will, more often than not, be no factor at all.
The cost of a basic urn with a photo and embellishments.
Small (up to 20 pounds) (4x4x4) $375
Medium (up to 60 pounds) (5x5x5) $425
Large (up to 120 pounds) (6x6x6) $525
Larger urns may be created. Please contact the artist.
